Pretty hard to compete when you're decimated by injuries

I think after the Johansen debacle this summer they are going after McDavid

If the Oilers came searching for Anisimov and Tyutin, what would the price be? You guys need some firepower on the wings, no?

Maybe CBJ fans haven't liked the end result, but you gotta be happy to see Prout absolutely dummy Lucic with a right, only to have Milan throw a hissy fit and throw his glove back at the guy like a little female dog.

And yes, this was Friday night, but come on, this is gold.

First time I saw the punch. Holy (frank)!!!

Injuries just hit this team hard. Sucks to see. I have no info on the team so maybe sell off some bad contracts at the deadline. Keep the cupboards full.

Yeah, it's about the only highlight of the season. Last night was an embarrassment in Philly and instead of getting 3 or 4 points which the CBJ could have easily done this weekend, they got one. The CBJ are toast this year.

Sadly, almost every decision GM Jarmo Kekäläinen has made since signing Nathan Horton and trading Martin Gaborik has blown up in his face. The young players people thought could play in the NHL are showing they are not ready yet, Gibbons has been a terrible error instead of keeping Blake Comeau, letting Derek MacKenzie go might be the right thing to do long-term, but our 4th line without him is awful just about every night. Not finding a better #2 goalie seems to be a huge mistake, even the CBJ TV crew is speculating that BOB's glove hand is not healed yet, and he rushed back because the goalies who replaced him aren't as good as a cardboard cutout of Martin Brodeur placed in the crease.

And in a contract year BOB is lighting money on fire with his play. The goal he gave up Friday from the red line opened the floodgates to a Boston win, and his play has been very shaky since he returned.

If you read the Columbus Dispatch articles on them, the players are either despondent, out of gas and compete level, or accepting the fact they have no shot at the playoffs. The coaching staff has done as good as they can do under the circumstances, but when you are bringing a Nerf sword to a gunfight every night what can you do?

Maybe if someone can pour some napalm on this dumpster fire we can just get the season over with quickly and finally get the number one pick in the draft. But the way this year is going they will get the fifth or sixth pick anyway. Welcome to Edmonton Southeast.

Throw in potentially alienating Ryan Johanssen, your best current and future franchise player in the offseason

If Johanssen leaves as a UFA, it will be traced back to the actions of Jarmo and Davidson this past offseason

You guys interested In making an investment in Taylor Hall? Just asking since Edmonton needs to make a franchise alternating move here.

Disappointing at best. Most of the players on this team don't understand the commitment a team of this caliber has to exhibit. I wonder if the reckless abandon needed to compete is the reason for the injuries.

Big questions surround this team. Re-sign Foligno? trade some of the youth on Defense? What to do with Horton's $$ when he can't play again. Bob's contract?

There isn't the doom and gloom of past years, but still work to do. Oh yeah it isn't even December yet.

I believe the insurance company is paying for Hortons salary , so yeah that's 5,3 off the books and the cap since he's on IR.

That's very debatable. The argument can be made that Boone Jenner is more valuable long-term to the franchise. I think he's a more complete player with a better work ethic and more leadership.

Not a slight on RyJo, but if you made me pick one to keep I'd probably lean towards Jenner tbh. Won't have the point totals that RyJo has, but he'll have more of an overall impact on your club.
